Honey Balsamic Vinegar Chicken

Honey Balsamic Vinegar Chicken

Honey Balsamic Vinegar Chicken

This is the most asked for chicken dish at my house. The girls call it hateful chicken but it earned that name before they learned to foil line the baking sheet. And I mean, foil line it all, including the sides! This is a sticky wonderful tasting chicken that will have you licking your fingers before you reach  for a napkin. You will not want to waste a drop.

We always make a double batch of this but we have four adults eating.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup Balsamic Vinegar
1/4 cup Soy Sauce
1/2 cup Honey
2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
4 Cloves Garlic
1 Tablespoon Onion Powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt
6-8 chicken legs (really any combination of cut up chicken works)
1 Tablespoon Corn Starch or Flour
1/4 cup Brown Sugar

Directions:
~ Combine all the ingredients above the chicken into a large baggie and squish to mix
~ Add chicken
~ Seal baggie and press around to coat the chicken in the marinade
~ Place in refrigerator for 30 minutes or longer
~ Preheat oven to 450 degrees
~ Remove chicken from the baggie (save marinade) and place the chicken on a foil lined baking sheet
~ Bake at 30 minutes at 450
~ While chicken is baking (I start this about 20 minutes into cooking process), place reserved marinade in saucepan and bring to a boil. Allow to boil for 5 minutes to kill any germs and then add the corn starch and brown sugar. Stir well and drop heat to simmer until timer is up on chicken
~ Pour reduced glaze over chicken and return to oven under the broiler on high for 5 minutes

Much can be alternated to make it even better like a dash of brown sugar… A few idea’s, with money available, come to mind especially making this for a birthday next year!

Indulging in warm, delicious bread with balsamic vinegar is one of my FAVORITE things! (Which sometimes semi-ruins the main meal!) So I will definitely try your recipe soon! Saved it to Pinterest and putting the ingredients on my grocery list! Thanks!
