How to Have a Heart for Your Kids {Book Review}
As a mom I know how busy our lives can become with just getting through until bedtime! And I know that this is not the way any of us want to live and certainly not the way God intended us to run our homes or raise our children.
With all the activities and pulls on our family, we can lose site on what the scriptures teach us about raising children.
I recently read How to Have a H.E.A.R.T. for Your Kids by Rachael Carman. She uses the word HEART to help us remember what’s important as a mom:
H–Have a heart for the things of God
E–Enrich your marriage
A–Accept your kids
R–Release them to God
T–Teach them the truth
How well do you really know your children? Sure, you love them, but do you even like them? What has God shown you about who they are and who they will become? He has sent these children into your home at this specific time for His glorious purposes. Thus you have been invited on the adventure of a lifetime, a journey on which you will see walls fall, seas parted, and giants slain. You don’t need special skills or training for this journey—you need only to seek God and hold tightly to His mighty hand! As with so many things, the first step to having a heart for your children is knowing your heavenly Father.
I completely agree that if we do not have our heart and walk right with God, we can not oversee our family as we are expected.
The one point I find myself making to younger moms all too often is to focus on eternity and not on today. I know this isn’t easy, but most of what is driving us up the wall today…will not matter in a year, or five.. but losing our children to Satan will matter for eternity.

i loved the review of the book. it teaches a lot to kids and i also liked the Teach them the truth idea which is a must to young kids especially when they are at an age of learning new things and accepting them.
Wow, this book sounds like one I need to read in 2015. Never heard of it. Thanks for sharing.
