Never Miss Another Post from a Friend on Instagram
Have you read about the changes made on the way images are shown in Instagram? Instagram recently stated they will be reordering the 150 photos that show up in your feed. The number of photos being shown in your feed isn’t changing, believe it or not Instagram has always limited the photos that show up in your feed to 150. It has always been this way in Instagram but most people don’t notice because the feed continues to update.
Think of it this way, if you are following 200 friends and bloggers, and they each put up one post in the morning, you will only see 150 images of the 200 images that were put up. This isn’t what is changing and if you go to someone’s main page you can see their posts, even the ones that you didn’t see in your feed – which is another reason to turn on notifications.
While Instagram has come out and said exactly what criteria they will use to determine which 150 photos you will see in your feed, until they do, there is a way to make sure you see the posts from your favorite accounts.
The easiest way to make sure that you don’t miss the posts from your favorite bloggers or friends is to just turn on the post notifications.
First open the Instagram App on your phone (can’t do it from desk top yet). If you haven’t been in the app in a few days you will notice the icon has changed.
Open the app and scroll along until you see something you would normally double tap to show some love. Go ahead and share the love – we bloggers LOVE interaction with friends because it shows the brands that our content is worthy..so double tap and leave a comment if you really want to help us out and let us know what you like! But I digress, look at the right side of your image and you will see a column of three dots. Press on the column of dots and a pop up window will appear.
On the pop up you just need to tap Turn On Post Notifications. Please don’t press Report – if you ever have a problem with ANYTHING I publish, please reach out to me so we can talk about it. I am very careful about what my name represents and it would hurt me to know that I posted something someone found offensive.
The Copy Share URL is a nice tool if you want to share the image on Facebook or Twitter…by all means use that button freely!
Now when one of your favorite friends or bloggers upload a post to Instagram, you will get a little icon in your notification bar on your phone.
Easy isn’t it? See you soon on Instagram!
