Join the Fight with Starlink: Battle for Atlas
It’s fair to say that my family is really into technology, electronics, and gaming. Even the grandkids are joining in some of the online games with their cousins, friends, and even aunts and uncles! I certainly wanted to be prepared this holiday season with the latest and greatest since we’ll be hosting everyone at our home! So thanks to Best Buy, we’re going to join the fight with Starlink: Battle for Atlas, on the PS4! It’s a wonderful space action-adventure game where you build and control your own spaceship, bringing it to life on the screen. I’m already mastering the skills I’ll need to help teach the kids how to play if they don’t know already!
Join the fight.
In Starlink: Battle for Atlas, you can build a customized starship and mount it to your controller. Once you build your starship, you can watch it come to life on the screen as you travel the star system to unite the galaxy against villainous destructive forces.
Build, battle and win.
Mix and match pilots, hulls, wings, and weapons to build the starship of your dreams. Changes to your physical starship are instantly reflected in your gameplay experience, allowing you to jump immediately into the battle.
Creative combat.
Build your own playstyle to overcome deadly challenges. You can choose your pilot and master their unique skills to gain an advantage. You can also experiment with different weapon combinations to deal even more damage.
An open, living star system.
Travel seamlessly through the seven exotic alien worlds of the Atlas star system. This galaxy is full of unique challenges to encounter and overcome. Plus, fly directly from the planet into space for more battles, then head back to another world when you’re ready.
I’ve noticed over the years that some genres of games are more popular with my crew than others. Anything based around space, aliens, and battles seem to always do well in my house! That’s one of the reasons I’m thrilled to introduce the family to Starlink: Battle for Atlas, because it hits several topics that we enjoy playing, both solo and in teams. We’re playing on the PS4, but the game is also available on the Nintendo Switch, the PlayStation®4 and the Xbox One.
The game itself has beautiful graphics full of colors and designs, not to mention music, sound effects, and dialogue. It’s rated E10+ so no worry about foul language or adult themes! You start by traveling through space, learning how to handle your controller and gameplay with the opening sequences. Don’t worry, you get into battles soon enough! The best part though?
You build your own spaceship, choose your pilot, and pick your weapons in real life, then play them in the game!
So the starter set comes with everything you need, including the game, a controller mount, a pilot, a spaceship, and several weapons. You insert the pilot figure into the spaceship, add the weapons you’d like to use to the sides of the ship, and plug it into your controller. And when you enter the game, the spaceship you’ve designed (and are holding in your hands with the controller) comes to life on the screen! Eventually you set off to explore the planets of the Atlas star system, learn about the plant and animal life, creatures, flying, and more!
Best Buy carries other figures/packs as well, so you can change the pilot, ship, or even the weapon types you’re building with. It’s a great way to bring your design to life, and watch as changes happen as soon as you make them to the physical ship. For example, certain enemies may be damaged by ice/cold weapons, so you can quickly swap out your flame thrower for a hailstorm weapon. As soon as you make the change, the game updates as well so you now have that weapon equipped and ready to use.
Single and Multi Player
Not only can you play as a single player through the campaign mode, but you can also play two player style with a side by side screen mode! This way you and a teammate can battle your way through an adventure together! And the choices you make as you play the game influence the rest of the story. If you make an alliance with one group, then you may anger another faction and they will attack in the future. Or if you aren’t careful when you study a new creature, it may attack you before you can get away safely. I love games that can change based on your choices, so you can go back and choose differently the next time you play through it.
We’ve found Starlink: Battle for Atlas, to be a big hit for the family this holiday season. The controls aren’t so intense that the younger kids can’t grasp it but still complicated enough to keep the older players interested. The game is not the same when you repeat it since your choices change the storyline of the game. And of course since you can swap your physical toy parts out for other ships, wings, pilots, and weapons, the options are endless! Be sure to check out all the options available at Best Buy today and go ahead and join the fight with Starlink: Battle for Atlas!

I don’t remember if I heard of this game or not? My grandkids have XBOX Ones. Christmas is over, so I don’t know if I am going to be familiar with the new games coming out? After all, their birthdays are coming up. Their moms tell me that they would like to get other games besides Fortnight, because that’s the only game they play everyday! Thank you for sharing!
