Keeping on Track with a Fitness Tracker Smart Watch
Keeping on Track with a Fitness Tracker Smart Watch is so easy. Well, let’s say it takes the guess work out of meeting your goals. Do you know how many steps you have taken today? My goal is at least 10,ooo and I am pushing towards the 15,000 step a day mark by adding 500 steps to my count each week. Now I am not a runner, so these are actual steps – and with the condition of the world in 2020, most were inside my house.
Last December I was in an automobile accident. We were hit broadside by a large SUV two days after Christmas. I ended up with two breaks in my leg and three breaks in my arm. For the next nine weeks my arm was wrapped against my chest like I was saying the pledge. And with a cast on my leg, I wasn’t going anywhere often or quickly. Once I started physical therapy and began to build the strength in my leg (do you have any idea how much muscle mass and tone you lose in two months?) I started riding a stationary bike. I was also assigned the therapy of walking 500 steps a day in between my sessions.
500 steps a day should be no problem!
Well, I admit I cried almost everyday trying to meet that goal. In the beginning I was using my cell phone to track my steps. Problem with that is I often set my phone down while doing something and forget it. And being the perfectionist I tend to be, I would not allow myself to count those “wasted steps” not tracked. One day I was complaining about leaving my phone on the charger most of the day and now I was pacing in the bedroom trying to get my step count in for the day. This is when I learned how a Fitness Tracker Smart Watch could help keep me on track.
Slowly over the next several months, my step count was increased until I reached the therapy goal of 10,000 steps a day. Many, many tears were cried during these months and I am still in therapy a year following the accident.
Benefits of using a fitness tracker smart watch
Along with having a watch that syncs up with most of my other devices, my favorite benefit of using a fitness tracker is being able to see the progress. On a bad day, I will look back in the daily history and see that even on hard days, I made my goal. Yes, I am one of those people that have to hold myself accountable and not accept any excuses. If I give myself permission to skip a day…soon it will be a week and then the goal is just tossed away. You know, good intentions and all..
So what are some benefits of using a fitness tracker smart watch?
-
Keeping track of your goal – number of steps taken or distance covered
Being reminded to get up and move – mine has an alarm that buzzes to tell me to get off my fanny!
Tracking your heartbeat – Are you working in the right “zone” for the exercise?
Tracking your sleep patterns – Are you getting enough sleep? What is happening to your body while sleeping?

While there are several on the market, one of my favorite is the UMIDIGI Smart Watch. This unit offers many of the features you would normally only find on the high priced units. And it is available in a wide range of colors. I believe it packs a bang for the price point. This activity tracker can automatically monitor your heart rate all day (need to turn on in the Da Fit app), also with blood oxygen measuring, sleep tracking, sedentary reminder and so on. After measuring, it will provide a comprehensive data analysis to help you create a healthier lifestyle.
