Lunch at Tom + Chee on the Levee

Lunch at Tom + Chee on the Levee

Ok I love a good grilled cheese sandwich just as much as any child. I have experimented with bacon, tomato, horseradish and other limited condiments on my sandwich from time to time.

Never have I been in awe of a grilled cheese sandwich as I was today at Tom + Chee on the Levee in Newport, KY. Here is their menu.

I enjoyed the Hippy+Chee which had Hummus, Cucumber, Mixed Greens, Tomato, Cheddar on wheat. Wow..the words fail me. Additionally, their soup of the day was blue cheese chili. Honestly, I had to think on this for a minute and thought, why not? Wonderful! We usually add sour cream to our chili so blue cheese isn't too much of a stretch.

My daughter Beth stuck with the plain grilled cheese and tomato soup. Both were excellent!

The above soup and sandwich would have been more than a hearty lunch…..before….you smelled the unbelievable aroma of grilled donuts! Yep… grilled donuts. I had never heard of such a thing LOL.

The third photo is missing because someone (Miss Meg) dug into it before I got a picture.

These alone are enough to you put in a sugar coma but so worth it.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The noise level was a bit loud for me but it was high noon and lunch traffic was at full throttle. It was also raining so there were people seeking shelter from the storm which added to the higher level of noise.

Definitely will be going back again! Make sure you visit a location when you are in the Cincinnati area.
