Moments to Savor

As a mom of seven, finding quiet moments can be difficult. And finding time alone with my husband, to enjoy a hot meal, at the same time? Forget about it! So when the opportunity came up while everyone was away for camps and summer trips, I fixed us a delicious supper and poured some tea so we could grab moments to savor together!
Knowing we’d have the house and the dinner table to ourselves, I took extra time to get our dinner together. I made us our own steaks, cooked the way we prefer, then added herbed couscous and some delicious butternut squash soup on the side! I broke out our trusty tablecloth and then…
What to drink?
Honestly, we have iced water or as my husband orders it, Water on the rocks! a lot of the time, but again, a special meal and adult alone time with no teenage drama or children underfoot? I needed something else!
So I broke out my from the fridge! Y’all, I was so relieved to have it ready to go instead of having to boil water on the stove, then steep the tea bags, etc. I made a glass of ice for each of us, added a splash of orange juice and then filled them with iced tea. Then, just because, I added a few frozen blueberries to each glass for garnish.
Look at this plate! And yes, we got to eat a meal, still hot, together at the same table at the same time! And we didn’t have to talk about the latest gossip, car trouble, college, or even work! It was definitely a pleasant change, this quiet meal spent with my husband, and I do love when we find #MomentsToSavor together.
The next morning was a different story! Morning comes early at my home, whether it’s the dog or someone leaving for work (and usually late) or package deliveries, you get my point. It got to be about mid-morning and I just needed a few minutes of “me time” where I didn’t hear my name being called, or bother answering the phone. So I grabbed the gallon jug of that Tradewinds slow-brewed sweet tea and poured a mug full. A few seconds in the microwave and a splash of cream and voila!
A magazine, some hot tea, and me!
I love that I can enjoy the same tea either cold or hot, and it’s already sweetened so I don’t have to fuss with it. Plus, you can make your own moments to savor with a number of flavors in the single serve bottle or the gallon jug like I have! You can learn more, including where to find at a store near you. Love having fruit mixed with my tea! Strawberry and lemon are my favorites, no matter the season!

Strawberry and lemons would be good in iced tea.

I love love love sweet tea with everything! The jug is great because I’m the only tea drinker in the house so I can drink it at my leisure. Will have to add fruit next time!

I love the jug that Tradewinds comes in. It is easy to have it ready to grab and go.

Normally drink about a gallon of iced tea a day. I love fresh tea as bottled tea has a taste to it that I can’t get past, ender if heating it might help…
SimplySherryl says
I know what you mean about that “taste” of bottled tea. Tradewinds does have some of that too, but if heated and then cooled..it goes away. I love it warmed in a mug. You should grab a bottle and try it.

I love how much tea you get for the money. I never thought to heat it up. Thanks! I need that for this winter.

I couldn’t live without tea – hot or cold, depending on the weather, and definitely sweetend (there is nothing worse than those unsweetend bitter brews they sometimes serve you in restaurants, ugh).
