Mother's Day Gifts
Do you ever wonder why we celebrate Mother's Day? I found myself curious and dug in for a little history on the holiday.

According to the historical records, the official holiday of Mother's Day was celebrated in the USA in 1908. The campaign took Anna Jarvis three years to get enough attention for the government to make it official.
Other cultures and countries have celebrated similar days honoring Moms since the early times. The earliest history of this celebration dates back to the ancient annual spring festival the Greeks dedicated to maternal goddesses. The Greeks used the occasion to honor Rhea, wife of Cronus and the mother of many deities of Greek mythology.
Today we take the second Sunday of May to honor our Mothers.
While researching the history on the holiday, I also did a little digging about the types of gifts that have been the custom over the years.
By far, jewelry has topped the list! Not a surprise to me – I love jewelry.
So what's topping our list this year for Mother's Day gifts? Yep…jewelry!
