Nan's Journey {Review}
Nan's Journey by Elaine Littau is the first of a five book series Nan’s Heritage Series.
Nan's Journey is the story of two orphaned children who endure horrible abuse by the people who are supposed to care for them. Knowing she must do something desperate to save her and her younger brother's lives, Nan plots their way out.
Not knowing where or what will happen to them, the two set out with just the thought of getting away from the pain and suffering. I am touched that Elmer seems to trust the God will take care of them and will make sure they are safe. Oh the faith of a child.
Nan however finds Elmer’s faith a bit harder to accept or even hear about. She has been hurt and suffered so much that she can’t accept the possibility that God loved or cared about them.
While I enjoy reading book that are faith based and show the love of Christ, this book was hard for me to read. The abuse was quite detailed and it broke my heart. However, knowing that so many have walked this path, perhaps this book will reach just one person and make a difference in their life.
If just one person turns to God and finds their faith the harsh truth told in this book will have served it’s purpose.
Nan's Journey is available on Amazon in print and Kindle formats.
