Old Kentucky Christmas
Does your town host something special for Christmas? Here in Northern Kentucky, we have an event that all of my friends talk about for the entire Christmas season.
My friend Heather from The Healthy Hen wanted to share her thoughts on this event.
Christmas is so close I can almost taste it! Well..I actually did…just a sampling..haha…it’s never too early for a peppermint mocha…ya know what I mean! I have to tell you about this awesome event, that of course is totally and 100% FREE!! We love it and it has become a family Christmas tradition! Old Kentucky Christmas at First Church of Christ!!
There’s so much to do and it’s all free!! Hay rides, photo ops, cookie decorating, candle light service, ornament making, carriage rides…and on and on and on! If you have never been…here’s a list of my top 5 things to know!
Come Early, Stay Late!
There is so much to do! From the hay rides, to candle making, to dipping pretzels in chocolate and sprinkles, to the candle light services! Make a day of it and come early, then stay late, so you can check out everything! And maybe hit a couple spots twice!
Say Cheese!
Get your festive family picture snapped for FREE in our fantastic photo booth!! Plus check out all our photo ops with our beautiful Christmas tree, in front of handmade quilts, or in our multiple cut out frames where you can be the farmer or the donkey, pioneers, and more!! Lots of ways for fun photos with friends and family throughout the village.
Wear Your Baby
Not only is baby wearing adorable, but with the village ground covered in sawdust, it’s not the most stroller friend – so do yourself a favor and wear your baby!! Plus, that helps free up your hands for hot chocolate and cookies!
Have dinner before and dessert is on us!
Feed your sweet tooth as you explore the village – hot chocolate, cookies, chocolate dipped pretzels!! Yummy!!!
Need grandparents gifts… we’ve got those too!
At OKC the kids will be decorating ornaments at the Woodworkers Shop, making candy canes, and “cheesing” it up throughout the village creating the perfect moments to frame and put on display! The grandparents will melt like chocolate!!
