Quickie Chili

Quickie Chili

Looking for a quickie meal? Try my chili…it is my go to meal for those nights when I just need a warm hearty meal. Yes, we eat chili in the summer with fruit and pita toast for dipping!

Ingredients:
1 pound browned hamburger (I always keep 1 pound packages of browned, seasoned ground beef in freezer)

5 cans* of different whatever type beans you have

1  jar of spaghetti  sauce

1 package chili season (or mix teaspoon of garlic powder, pepper, salt, cumin, chili powder together)

Directions:
Open and dump everything into a large pot
Add one cup of HOT water and heat on medium heat until ready to eat

Serves 6-8

Add some bread and butter or a salad to the table and you are ready!

  • We use 5 cans only because that is how many cans it takes to feed us. (I keep stocked in black, red, chili, black-eye and white). I have found one can of beans per adult works out just about right without leftovers.

I have always wanted to learn how to cook Chili Beans; had I known it was this simple, I would have learned how to make this a long time ago. Thanks for the recipe share!

I keep beans on hand for chili, too. I like the idea of using spaghetti sauce for a quick chili with some spice, thanks!
