React Mobile:  Mobile Safety App

While getting in shape is on everyone’s mind this month, let’s talk about staying safe while you exercise.

Whether you are running through the neighborhood or running errands at the mall, it’s important to take the appropriate steps to keep yourself safe.

Let someone know the route you will be using and when to expect you home. I am always reminding my teens that they need be where they say they are going and take the route they are comfortable with in case something happens; I know where to start if I need to find them.

Now – you got it, there is an app for that! With the new React Mobile app, you can trigger a call for help with a press on your screen. Not only call for help, this app will sent SMS to your preselected contacts and let them know that you need assistance.

This app has some other interesting features that you can use to stay safe while you’re out and about:

– Text your listed contacts immediately should you encounter danger. They’ll receive a text and email alert with your current location.

– Call the police or emergency personnel with just a push of the screen if you find yourself in a tough situation.

– Post a link to your current location on Facebook or Twitter to quickly let your entire social group know where you are.

– Allow your contacts to keep up with your progress with the “follow me”

I think my favorite function is the “I’m Safe” button that my teens can use to check in when they arrive at their destination.

This app provides another line of safety. Knowing that help is on the way with just a push on my screen is comforting. As a mom, I appreciate knowing that my teens also have this additional line of defense.
