Oh what a wonderful book! Being a parent is hard. Keeping your child’s heart is even harder when they are involved in the World too much. This is a heart changing book about a parent’s effort to teach and engage their children’s hearts to God’s truth and His plan for them.
I can’t imagine taking off on a trip like this…but I can see how it would tie the heart strings of family members together.
Product Review: Road to Redemption
Author: Brad Mathias
Synopsis:
Brad Mathias thought everything in his family was fine. A busy, contented dad, he had vaguely noticed that Bethany, his middle child, had become withdrawn and moody, but he assumed it was part of being a “teen” and didn’t look any deeper. Until the night God spoke clearly to Brad and his wife: Ask her to reveal what she has hidden. They did—and learned the secret Bethany had been carrying, one that rocked their family to the core. In a desperate attempt to reach their daughter and to reconnect as a family, Brad and his wife piled everyone into the car and embarked on a wild, crazy, seven-thousand-mile, what-are-we-thinking trip across the country. As they drove, they realized how far apart they’d drifted, found unexpected blessings along the way—and journeyed together from pain and loss to recovery and redemption. In this book, Brad shares stories from the road about God’s grace, gives practical tips on what he learned about reconnecting as a family, invites you to consider your own epic journey as a mother or father, and calls you to trust wholeheartedly in the amazing love God has for your kids.
I would recommend this book to both teens and parents. The one line that stuck out to me in the book was, “No matter how strong our faith is, it will not automatically be passed down to the next generation.” This is so true. Our children need to see a Living God through us as they travel life’s paths to their adulthood.
The book, Road Trip to Redemption is available on Amazon and Tyndale in printed and ebook.

Thanks so much!
Thanks.. I will do that.
Sounds like a great book. I would definitely read it.
I love that line . . . you really do have to have a strong faith tradition around the house in order to make sure your children are exposed to the things that made US love Him so much.
This sounds right up my alley. I have struggled with exactly this quote “No matter how strong our faith is, it will not automatically be passed down to the next generation.” with my oldest son and now need to re-adjust how I teach and show our faith to my next 3.
sounds like a great book, my girls are still too young, but watching them grow into the world and become a part of it more, I’ll probably cry but be so proud at the same time!
