Review: SHMILY Coins

Being the mom of teen girls, I can read and understand most Acronyms and texts. However,  I will be the first to admit that I had no idea what SHMILY meant the first time I saw it.

SHMILY means “See How Much I Love You”- Is that not the sweetest thing? There is of course a love story to go along with the word SHMILY and it can be read on their website.

Once you understand the story behind SHMILY, you will appreciate the little coins that can be used to sneak in a little love anywhere!

The SHMILY coins are pocket sized (1½” round) wooden coins. They are stamped on the front with “SHMILY” and a little heart. The back is stamped with the explanation for SHMILY. Bonus that they are made in the USA!

Being small, they can be easily hidden anywhere! Finding one will surely offer a burst of love as they are intended and have your special person wearing a smile. We all need to be reminded that we are loved!

When I received the package with my SHMILY coins, my girls were all over them. Surprisingly, they didn’t think they were “silly” or “lame” but were asking if they could have one before I even had the chance to use them.  For the first couple of days, we wrote little notes and tucked them in with the coins for each other to find. Slowly I noticed that they had become decorated by the girls. Not to be outdone, I applied my own “love note” to a coin and gave it to my husband to carry in his change pocket. It reminds him of my love for him every time he pulls out his change. And talk about a conversation starter!

Now that we have had fun with them, we are down to just a couple remaining coins. The others have all been used to bless and bring love to friends and family members. I can honestly say that these little coins have spread love and joy in the lives of our family.
