Have you taken the ride on the duck? This is one of those must do things if staying in the area. Your kids will love it!

Ride The Ducks Newport, the most Quak-tastic family-friendly attraction in Greater Cincinnati.

Since Ride The Ducks Newport opened to the public July 9, 2008, nearly one-quarter of a million people have enjoyed sightseeing tours from its signature customized amphibious vehicles crafted from models used during World War II.

The 45-minute Ride The Ducks Newport tour travels through the Ohio River before hitting the city streets near downtown Cincinnati and Newport. Sites featured on the one-hour experience include Great American Ball Park, Paul Brown Stadium, the World Peace Bell, Newport Aquarium, Covington’s Historic Riverside Drive and much more.

New for 2014, are Ride The Ducks Newport Historic Land Tours, which will operate when the Ohio River conditions are not conducive for the amphibious vehicles to enter the water. The 45-minute historic land tours will highlight the history and background of points of interests in Old Covington, downtown Cincinnati and Newport.

Ride The Ducks Newport’s parent company Ride The Ducks International also supports similar operations in Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Atlanta, San Francisco, Seattle and Branson, Mo. Earlier this month, Ride The Ducks became a global brand with the addition of a Guam operation.

Four boats are in the Newport fleet, each seating up to 35 guests. Regular operating hours are noon to 5 p.m. From Memorial Day (May 26) through Labor Day (Sept. 1), the hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The complete operating schedule can be found on the Ride The Ducks Newport website.

Ride The Ducks Newport tickets are $17 for adults, $12 for children ages 2-12 and free for kids under 2 years old. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more.

Ride The Ducks Newport tickets can be purchased at the Newport on the Levee Welcome Center, online at newportducks.com, or by calling 859-815-1439.

Ride The Ducks is the nation's largest amphibious tour operator and amphibious vehicle manufacturer.
