Simply Rejoicing: 12 Months with God {Review}

This book reminded me of the little song.. “Be careful little ears what you hear – for the Father up above it looking down in love, so be careful little ears what you hear”.

Such a sweet little song but oh so applicable to us even as adults. Recently I completed a bible study by Patsy Lewis titled, Simply Rejoicing.

In this 12 month study, which is broken down into two study guides per month you will cover topics that keep bringing you back to the scriptures. Be still… Listen to the Word.. are the primary points I took from this study.

Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given and you will receive even more. Mark 4:24

As a mom and a blogger, I understand how hard it is for us women to slow down and pay attention to the things that really matter. It is easy to get so involved in what is “good” that we miss the “excellent” opportunities.

In this study, the author uses biblical examples and contemporary stories to show God is at work today and we can see it if we will slow down and start paying attention to His work in our lives.

Each month has a theme or focal point. Topics include areas of study:

• Open Your Heart and Home
• Participate in What Seems Impossible
• Overflow with Grace
• Cultivate Lasting Friendships

This study is all about spending time in the Word, reflecting on how to apply it in your life, along with memorizing scripture, will awaken you to the work of the Holy Spirit. Once you hear the Spirit and see the miracles all around you , you will live life more fully.. simply rejoicing.
