Stand Your Ground DVD {Review}
If you’re looking for a suspenseful movie that reminds you what it’s like to rely fully on faith during a difficult time, then you need to watch Stand Your Ground. You follow Jackie Carpenter’s situation of dealing with her son, Jason, who has been accused of murder. As any mother would do, she stands with her son and vows to do whatever it takes to get him out of prison. Suddenly, you go from a mystery to a battle where faith is the only thing driving you forward.
Set in a small, rural town you think that everyone would know everything about everybody. But, while you’re watching this film, you realize that you don’t ever know as much as you think you do. Jason goes out one night in an attempt to find out who has been stealing from his property. The next thing you know his parents are receiving the call that he has been arrested for murder. You watch a family bond together stronger than ever as Stephanie, Jason’s wife, tries to explain what is happening to their son while Jackie fights for her own son.
As helpless as you can be during a felony murder trial watching your loved one await their verdict, you do all that you can do. Jackie turns to her faith and prays that her son will be found innocent of the crime. She puts it all in God’s hands and waits for her miracle. If it wasn’t for her faith, Jackie wouldn’t have any hope in this frightening situation.
Jason finally catches a break when his charges are dropped to a lesser offense due to an issue with the police officer that arrested him. With the guidance of God and his wife, he decides to then choose trial over a plea deal. You’ll follow the trial and find out some of the details from the night and ultimately if Jason is found guilty or not. But, I think the best part of this movie is the message to stand your ground. You see Jackie and Jason both struggle with this concept and then stand triumphantly in declaration of it once they’ve let themselves be driven by faith.
Finally, another movie with a message to stand proudly with your beliefs and to put all of your faith in God. You need to see Stand Your Ground and see how faith can provide for you in the toughest of life’s situations. More information on Stand Your Ground can be found on Facebook.
