Stoll’s Country Inn  – Evansville, IN

Stoll’s Country Inn – Evansville, IN

On our trip to Branson, MO we stopped at Stoll’s Country Inn for lunch. My husband had seen the sign on several recent trips but was unable to stop so he planned our travel route to include a stop for lunch.

First thing I fell in love with was the store. They have a large selection of items that are uniquely local. The prices in the store are on the high end, but we were able to pick up a couple of little things to add to our trip reminders.

The buffet had a ton of food! I went for the vegetables and salad while the hubster dug into the meat and potatoes. There were at least 4 selections of meats, all but one was fried. Vegetables were in a hot table all by themselves and there were at least a dozen available. Salads and desserts were nicely represented. Of course the soft serve ice cream was a hit!

Overall, the food was good. The servers were friendly and knew a good deal of the customers by name. I would imagine this is a local hot spot when fast food is not what you are craving. As for the food, it was, well, buffet food. It was not overly seasoned, which although personally I like seasoning, I do understand that on a buffet the offerings must be more reserved with spices. I simply seasoned my own plate to my liking.. problem solved.

My favorite item was the Tomato and Celery Soup. It was awesome!

Lunch was less than $10 per adult and we did not leave hungry. I would stop in again when our travels take use through Evansville. You can read other reviews on this location at Yelp.com.
