Trash Can Bloggers
Week 10
Welcome Spring
This is week 10 of a 12 week group writing project with Trash Can Bloggers.
Prompt: Welcome Spring! What do you do special when the time changes?
For us, the spring forward change in time seems to take longer to get used to than the fall back change. Funny how that one hour makes a difference!
Time change day triggers several things at our house:
~ Batteries are replaced in all the smoke detectors
~ Rotation switches are flipped for the ceiling fans
~ Everyone learns to add or subtract an hour from the current time on all clocks in the house
Just teasing about the last one… sort of! Sadly, getting all the clocks set properly usually takes us at least a week!
I think all clocks should have a setting, like my computer that does it automatically. If my computer and phone didn’t update themselves… I would be in trouble!
What about at your house? Any special tricks or habits marking the changing of the time?

I am hating the time change since I can’t figure out how to change my alarm clock…grr!

We did the same thing with checking batteries, smoke detectors etc. I thought the time change would effect me but I can say it didn’t. I too wish all clocks would automatically change on there own.

The only ritual we have in our house is to wait until late Sunday night to change all the clocks. That 1 hour makes me tired all week long.

I don’t have any clocks in my house, I rely on my cell phone, I wouldn’t even notice the time change if I didn’t hear about it since my phone automatically does it. I remember years ago having to mark the day and change everything-ugh I feel old lol

I changed my batteries, the microwave time and my battery clock and my clock radio.

I completely agree that all clocks should automatically update the time for Daylight Savings. That would make functioning the day after we spring forward so much easier. I also agree that it is more difficult getting used to springing forward than falling back an hour. And because I just got around to changing most of my clocks, I went through today thinking it was one time when I was on the computer, and another time when I wasn’t. Fantastic.
