Whey Protein Isolate {Review}
Smoothie lover or just looking to add more protein to your diet? My intake seems to be light on protein most of the time and I have been looking at different protein powders to boost my intake.. but.. most taste like the grass in the hamster cage!
I have over the years tried just about all the protein drinks on the market. Yep, I know..ewwww! So, while obviously not your protein beverage cheerleader, I have found ways to “get them down”. Normally it’s a mix and chug method; one that makes me cringe just writing it. Others I have managed to tolerate better by placing in smoothies with lots of fruits and sweeteners…which defeats the purpose of a healthy drink.
Recently I received a sampling of the Whey Protein Isolate powders to try out.
First drink was mixed as per instructions with just water. It mixed easily with just a spoon and didn’t leave the dough balls of powder that we all know about and sneak up on you while enjoying your protein shake. This was smooth and not bad tasting..not bad at all!
Next batch was placed in the smoothie machine with a handful of frozen fruit and milk. Hello… this was not only tolerable, I got one of the little ones to taste it and they asked if I could make them one! Yeah.. that doesn’t happen often with my “Hey, wanna try my new drink” experiments.
I was glad to find out that this product is NON-GMO, Lactose free, Soy free and is naturally flavored with Stevia. This product has zero fat and less than 1% Daily Value of Cholesterol and Carbohydrates.
The individual packets would be great to toss in your gym bag, lunch box or briefcase for those times when you need a quick pickup. It is also available in a tub for use at home. Each serving provides 26 grams of protein and makes a wonderful meal replacement or a great way to add protein to your intake without adding a lot of extra calories.
So whether you are on a weight loss journey or just looking to boost your protein intake, consider giving Whey Protein Isolate a try. It is available on Amazon in both Vanilla and Chocolate flavors.
