Would a Worm Go on a Walk? {Book Review}
Kids have great imaginations, don't they? And I love when my family makes up silly stories about random animals, or even our dog, and what they do when we aren't watching! The book, Would a Worm Go on a Walk? by Hannah Hall, comes up with all sorts of silly things like that.
Would a worm go on a walk, if you could lead him down the street? / Would he wear his tiny tennies, if he had two worm-sized feet?
So begins this humorous and imaginative picture book that introduces children to the idea that animals are uniquely created by a loving and wise God. Would a Worm Go on a Walk?, with its colorful, comical illustrations, is a fresh, fun way to teach young children that God created all things very good. He gave all the animals, and children, too, wonderful qualities and unique strengths. Children will giggle over the ridiculous scenarios presented, and they will come away with the knowledge that we all are loved and special. Ages 4-7.
This is a very cute and fun children's book. The illustrations are perfectly matched for each question that the author asks the readers to consider. Then on the following page, the answer explains why the animal would or wouldn't do such a thing, and why.
It's a great way to teach about how God has made each living thing with their own characteristics, likes & dislikes, plus each was made for a purpose. And it also helps explain to kids that we are each a masterpiece of the Lord, and we were all created perfectly and with purpose.
We definitely had plenty to laugh at as we talked about the questions, like if pig would play a piano. And sometimes we made up additional questions, details or other parts to the story. Of course, it's also a great “lead” into drawing, crafts, and Bible verses.

I'd suggest this book for kids 8 and under, even if they are too young to truly understand, especially in a multiple sibling setting. You can pick up a copy of Would a Worm Go on a Walk? today on Shop Better Books and on Amazon.
