For small gatherings of good friends, keep an eye on your dog or plan to crate her after a brief greeting period so she will be safe!
Having a big event full of relative strangers? Don’t be afraid to crate your dog or, if that is complicated somehow, board them overnight. This allows you to fully focus on your party without worrying that a mishap might mar the moment.
Only you know your dog and your situation but being proactive sure beats reactive at such times.
So how do you handle your pets when you have company or holiday parties?
We keep the piglets, Mason and Madeline in their kennels unless someone is going to be playing with them.
Lily, our 12 yr old blind toy poodle gets banished upstairs where she whines the entire night!
