Brown Sugar Scrub

Brown Sugar Scrub

Brown Sugar ScrubLooking for a fresh facial or body scrub? Wait until you try this one! Smells wonderful! Be prepared for the kids to come running wanting the snack they smell you creating in the kitchen!
Brown Sugar Scrub

Ingredients:
1 cup Regular Brown Sugar
1 cup Sugar in the Raw (any large granular type)
1 cup Granulated White Sugar
1 cup Olive Oil or Coconut Oil
1 Tablespoon Vanilla

Brown Sugar Scrub

Directions:
Combine the sugars together in a medium bowl. Pour the oil in the sugar mix a little at a time and work with the back of a spoon until the sugar is all damp and combined. Stir in vanilla. This scrub will look and feel like damp sand texture.

Another way to make is to place the sugars and vanilla in a food processor and gently pulse until blended. Slowly add the oil and continue to pulse just until combined.

You do not want to over work the scrub because you may end up dissolving the sugar in the oil.

Store in airtight container for up to a month.

To Use:

Facial Scrub:

Work 1 Tablespoon in your palms until easy to spread and then gently rub on face and neck. Rinse with warm water.

Body Scrub:

Place half a cup on a damp warm wash towel and scrub away in the shower. Rinse and shower as usual.

Note: If using in the shower, be careful as the oils may cause the shower or tub to be a little slick until the scrub has been washed down the drain.

Scrubs like this one make great jar or basket gifts. You can whip this up in minutes and place in a pretty bottle or container with a nice wash towel for a special treat.

I love the idea of making my own sugar scrub! All of the benefits without the added chemicals is definitely a plus.

That would be interesting to try. I have never used it but I have heard from others that have and they liked it. I just never seem to have the time to mix some up.

86 I’m still having trouble with the number. It won’t let me add it in the space provided. Hope this goes through. I pinned this to try. It sounds amazing!

I love using sugar scrub on my legs to exfoliate before I shave. So much better to make you own instead of buying them!

This sounds like a wonderful and fragrant treatment. It does indeed remind me of growing up, cooking in my mother’s kitchen. It also reminds me of an oatmeal I loved growing up. I am really looking forward to trying this out!

I’ve recently started to do these and not only does it make my skin smell amazing, I noticed that shaving after the scrub makes for the smoothest feeling ever!
