Facebook Claims Top App Rank
It’s official! Facebook can claim being ranked #1 in Android and iOS devices Apps in the United States. Well, for at least the month of December.
In December, over 85 million Americans (listed as 18 and older) used Facebook app on either an Android or iOS mobile device. Facebook became the king of hill, knocking Google Maps off the mount. This is reportedly due to Apple deciding to drop Google’s mapping app from their new iOS 6. Google however maintained it’s dominance in the market with the top 5 out of 6 apps being Google apps.
As for Facebook, their mobile app is extremely crucial. This app accounted for twenty-three percent of all of Facebook’s Ad revenue for the last quarter in 2012. This has to be considered when looking at Facebook’s future growth.
Today’s chart by Statista displays the top 10 apps for Android and iOS devices in the United States during the month of December.
