There are so many areas we have to train our kids about when it comes to hygiene. Bathing, hand washing, hair combing, etc. And their mouth is no small exception! But kids can be picky about their toothbrush, floss, toothpaste, and so on. I’ve found that if I let my son pick his own toothbrush (out of a few pre-selected ones I approved of) that he enjoyed the feeling of control. FYI, he usually went for a green and/or super hero one. And the same thing was true for toothpaste. Some kids don’t like a mint flavor, some don’t like grape, so you may need to try a few to find one they will enjoy using.
PRO-SYS® Kids products are great; they have a lot of options from babies up to older children (and then on to adults of course). Like the one we’re using is especially made for small, toddler hands between the ages of 2-5. The bristles are really soft, so even if he pushes really hard while he’s learning, he won’t hurt his gums.
And the bright pink of the bubblegum toothgel is a lot of fun! He’s learning how to squeeze out just what he needs and not waste it all in the sink. He thinks he’s brushing with real gum (and I won’t correct him since he likes doing it)! Plus it has the fluoride that our dentist suggests so Mom’s happy too.

Getting kids to brush is like pulling teeth. Okay, that doesn’t sound right. I like the idea of a good tasting toothpaste. They may brush longer and more often.
