USPS Holiday Schedules

USPS Holiday Schedules - HolidayReady

Have you completed your Holiday shopping? Do you know when is the best time to mail those cards and packages so they arrive on time and for the least amount of expense?

Unless you are using an online site like Amazon for your shipping, you need to pay attention to the shipping deadlines in order to avoid additional expense.

The US Postal Service has a special site during the holidays to help you with making the deadlines for shipping and saving money.  The site Holiday Ready allows you to track your packages, order free shipping boxes, purchase stamps, schedule a pickup or find the closest location for shipping.

They also have a cute app that can be downloaded on the site through both play stores depending on your device. The Holiday App brings your local collection boxes to life when you scan the bar code on them. Each week boxes will be updated with new tips, tricks and entertainment ideas during the holiday season.

Here are the dates for best mailing and shipping results:

  • December 20th using First Class Mail Services
  • December 21st using Priority Mail Services
  • December 23rd using Priority Mail Express Services

Also remember that Priority Boxes are free and can be delivered to your home. Place your order now so you have them on hand when needed.

And if you are using Priority Mail Services, the post office will pick them up from your home or office for free. You can even print the postage yourself.

Don't wait until a couple of days before Christmas to mail your gifts! Not only are the lines longer, the cost is a lot more and the stress of hoping your gifts arrive is something you can easily avoid.

Download the app now and the next time you are near a postal collection box just scan the postal label and watch the box come to life. Your kids will love it!
