Castle of Chaos {Review}
I’m not a big fan of scary rides or horror movies but several of my kids are. So when we visit Pigeon Forge, TN, and the Hollywood Wax Museum complex, several of them team up to visit/ride the Castle of Chaos! And each time, they try to beat each other and the other riders for the top score.
Where can you find the first 5D attraction in the world? At the Castle of Chaos, part of the Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center! This brand new haunted attraction in Pigeon Forge, TN, combines the experiences of a 3D film, a ride, and a video game in one scary fun adventure. The mission: explore a mysterious Pigeon Forge castle to discover the potential outbreak of paranormal activity. Buckle into your armchair and pick up your pistol as you prepare to see, hear, feel and smell the chaos while shooting for the highest score. Winners are shown on-screen at the end of every haunted ride. The Castle of Chaos in Pigeon Forge was called one of the best new attractions in the world by the International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions.
You may remember my post about our last visit to the Castle of Chaos which was our first visit. Well, on this trip, the ride was empty except for my crew. That made it scarier because the only screams, nervous laughter, and echoes were their own!
Construction was going on in the building/lobby area, but that didn’t impact the ride. It definitely looks like it should be even better on our next trip though! The process was the same; you collect your glasses and the ride operator lets you file in and pick your seat. The lap bar is pulled down, the rules are explained and the door is shut.
And then the fun begins!
The platform where the rows of seats are located is on a circle that can spin in any direction and at surprisingly high speeds. There are screens all around along with picture frames and other decorations that remain in place on the walls. The point of the game is to use your gun to shoot at the targets, whether they are zombies, rats, skulls, you name it.
Each person’s gun keeps score on the display in front of your seat, plus they are displayed on the main screen twice through the ride, along with a random picture taken of you in the dark. These are hysterical because they always seem to be with your mouth open in a scream or with your face scrunched up as you try to make your shots.
Then at the end, they post the winner, all the pictures and the scores and that’s when the ribbing usually begins. It’s all for fun of course but they will laugh about it for days to come.
As I mentioned, it’s part of the Hollywood Wax Museum property which is fun for the whole family and offers great photo opportunities! And in the same building is Hannah’s Maze of Mirrors.

I am with you,Sheryl.I am NOT a fan of haunted house or anything that may jump out and frighten me.Read Stephen King as a teen until I made the connection of reading before bed and WICKED nightmares.
Spooky! My family would love this! They love scary things.
All your posts have been very helpful especially for someone like myself who hasn’t been here as long. They are very appreciated. Sounds like something the kids would enjoy.

I love stuff like this! I cannot wait to be able to take my son here! Thanks for sharing!
My two daughters would love to go to this, Thanks for the post.
My family is from this area and we go to visit all the time, but I have never seen this ride. Now it will be on my list “to do”
This ride, Castle of Chaos, would terrify me to the extreme! Never mind the spinning that would seriously make me ill, but I am terrified of virtually anything to do with paranormal or darkness!!!
